DAY 1: AMSTERDAM

A welcome package with  a city map, train tickets (if relevant), and any other touristic information that we deem you may find useful will be given to you by your driver upon arrival. Alternative arrangements will be made if you do not have a private transfer at the start of your itinerary.

For your added comfort, you will have Meet & Greet guide assistance upon your arrival, which will be waiting for you outside the customs. Your representative will help to co-ordinate meeting up with your private chauffeur at the airport and accompany you to your accommodation.

Your English speaking guide will meet you at your hotel and take you on a tour of wonderful Amsterdam. Your guide will take you through the most picturesque neighborhood of Amsterdam on foot, the canals, the bridges, and to the beautiful 17th and 18th century mansions along the canals. You will also see the Royal Palace on Dam square, the historic buildings along the Amstel River, the colorful flower market and more. Cruise the canals by boat, the best way to see Amsterdam; Holland’s capital has 100 canals and 1000 bridges. While cruising through the old city you will see elegant merchant's mansions, carillon-topped churches and warehouses dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries.

DAY 2: AMSTERDAM

Follow a path through Amsterdam’s Jewish history and heritage on a full day tour of the city with your guide. See the Portuguese synagogue, the Hollandsche Schouwburg and explore an atmospheric neighborhood where 16th-century Jewish residents created a thriving community. Feel and learn all about the Jewish history and stroll past monuments and buildings still marked by traces of war. Visit Anne Frank House, where she went hiding and wrote her famous diary. Enrich your knowledge and discover documents, letters and original objects that belonged to Anne Frank. Next, you will visit 'Verzetsmuseum' (The Dutch Resistance Museum), the exhibition takes visitors back to the 1930s and 1940s with its life-like street scenes and recreated interiors of Dutch homes. The collection is marked by many personal stories with (propaganda) posters, photos, and artifacts giving a taste of what life was like during the period. DAY 3: AMSTERDAM

Meet your driver at your hotel and transfer to the National Liberation Museum to meet your private guide for a 1 hour guided tour. As you walk along you will live through the period preceding the war, experience the occupation, celebrate the liberation and witness the rebuilding of Holland and Europe after the war. By using smells, interactive presentations, diorama’s, models, original film and sound fragments, the depiction of the liberation is captivating. The museum shows both young and old the current value and importance of democracy, freedom and human rights. After that, transfer to Arnhem, and to meet your private local guide for an informative city tour. Learn the basics of Arnhem’s history as you trace a route into the heart of downtown, which was almost entirely leveled during the Second World War. Explore Second World War landmarks including the John Frost Bridge.  Hear about the fierce battles that were fought in the city when Allied troops launched Operation Market Garden to take strategic bridges across the Nederrijn. After the tour ends, your driver will drive you back to your hotel.

DAY 4: AMSTERDAM - BRUSSELS

Enjoy a transfer by high speed train from Amsterdam to Brussels. Travel time is approximately 3 hours.

DAY 5: BRUSSELS

Meet your private driver and guide to uncover the legends of the Battle of Waterloo during a private half-day tour from Brussels to Waterloo, the site of the bloody battle. See the battlegrounds where the British and Prussians defeated Napoleon Bonaparte, ending his reign as French Emperor. Visit important sites and memorials including La Haie Sainte, La Belle Alliance, Papelotte Farm and Lion Hill. Then return to your hotel in Brussels, enriched by your newfound historical knowledge.

DAY 6: BRUSSELS

Meet your guide and climb aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned coach and admire the scenic surroundings as your travel towards the town of Vladslo, your first destination of the day. Stop to see the German Military Cemetery of Vladslo, the most important German cemetery from WWI, and as you walk through the hauntingly peaceful area that features the famous sculpture by Käthe Kollwitz, Grieving Parents. Next, venture to the small city of Diksmuide and see a stretch of the Western Front that symbolizes Belgium’s courage and heroism during the conflict. See impressive monuments like the Yser Tower and the Grand Gate of Peace then return to the vehicle. You will also see the Peace Mill and the Canadian Monument in St Julien on the subsequent leg of the journey. Next, travel to Essex Farm Field Hospital and see the bunkers that inspired John McCrae to write his powerful poem, In Flanders’ Field. Venture to Hill 60 to see some strategic tunnels then disembark at the picturesque town of Ypres to enjoy some time at leisure. Attend the 'Last Post Ceremony,' the ceremony is a simple, yet moving, tribute to the bravery of those who died defending their town. At the end of the ceremony, return to your coach and drive back to Brussels.

DAY 7: BRUSSELS

Meet your private driver and delve into the history of one of Europe’s bloodiest conflicts on a full-day trip to Belgium’s dense Ardennes region. Visit the Bastogne War Museum and admire artifacts that speak eloquently of the town's turbulent history. See a collection of modern, interactive exhibits pays homage to the US soldiers who died in the Battle of the Bulge through a series of personal testimonies, displays of uniforms, maps and weaponry, and graphic black-and-white footage of the battle’s aftermath. The museum will put into context the causes, events, and consequences of the Second World War and particularly the Battle of the Bulge. Next, you will continue onto The Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, a somber place in which 8,000 soldiers are laid to rest. Gaze at the interminable rows of reflective grave markers and reflect on the lost lives of soldiers at a memorial dedicated to the soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division. After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
