DAY 1 - Fly to Dulles, Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy National Air and Space Museum

Fly to Washington Dulles Airport, arriving by 3:00PM   Meet your Tour Manager.  We visit the Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy National Air and Space Museum. This Museum provides space for the objects that tell the history of aviation and space flight. Over 335 air and spacecraft will be on display. The displays will included the Space Shuttle Enterprise, an SR-71 Blackbird, Dash 80 prototype of the Boeing 707, the B-17 Flying Fortress, an F-4 Phantom fighter, the B-29 Superfortress “Enola Gay”, and the de Havilland Chipmunk. Many artifacts will be on display for the first time. Visitors are able to walk among the exhibits and view them from elevated “skyways”. There is an Observation Tower where visitors can watch air traffic at Dulles International Airport. DAY 2 - White House Visitor Center, Woodrow Wilson House, Embassy Row, President Lincoln’s Cottage, National Portrait Gallery, Illuminated Monument Driving Tour, National World War II Memorial

This morning we visit the new White House Visitor Center where we can explore an interactive touchscreen tour of the White House. We then drive by the Octagon House designed by the architect of the US Capitol building. Then we tour the Woodrow Wilson House, where President Wilson lived after his retirement at the end of his 2nd term. After his death in 1924, Mrs Wilson dabbled in the occult to try and reach him so we will see her Ouija board and typed transcripts of séance sessions.   We then enjoy a drive down Embassy Row and by the Washington National Cathedral. This afternoon we tour President Lincoln’s Cottage, located on a picturesque hilltop in Washington, DC. This is the most significant historic site associated with Lincoln’s presidency aside from the White House. During the Civil War, President Lincoln and his family resided a quarter of his presidency. Later this afternoon we visit the National Portrait Gallery, housed in the Old Patent Office Building, to see the official President's portraits. DAY 3 - Reserved Seating for the Annual Cherry Blossom Parade, New Capitol Visitors Center, United States Capitol, Library of Congress, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Veteran’s Memorial

This morning after our included breakfast our Tour Manager will escort us to our reserved seating for the Annual Cherry Blossom Parade. This yearly Spring Festival marks the celebration of the original gift of 3,000 cherry trees from the city of Tokyo in 1912. After the parade, we arrive at the NEW Capitol Visitor Center on Capitol Hill. We enjoy lunch on own here before visiting the US Capitol. This building has housed Congress since 1800 and is one of the most imposing public buildings in the world. We then visit the United States Library of Congress. Our tour then stops at the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial, The Lincoln Memorial and the Korean War Veteran’s Memorial before returning to our hotel. DAY 4 - Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial, Franklin D Roosevelt Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Free Time at Smithsonian Institution Museums, Arlington National Cemetery Visitor’s Center

This morning after our included breakfast our Tour Manager will escort us for our day of touring. We visit the Martin Luther King, Jr National Memorial, The Franklin D Roosevelt Memorial, The Jefferson Memorial and weather permitting have a chance to photograph the blossoming cherry trees along the Tidal Basin. Lunch is on own as we have free time to explore your choice of the Smithsonian Museums on the National Mall. This afternoon we drive across the river to the Arlington National Cemetery Visitor’s Center. This evening we enjoy a Farewell Dinner.   Crowne Plaza Tyson’s Corner, McLean, VA  (B, D)

DAY 5 - Flight home

After our included breakfast, we check out of our hotel. There is time for an additional visit to the Smithsonian.  We depart for Dulles Airport just after lunch on our own.  Our flights are to be scheduled after 4:00PM (B)
